Actor, composer and singer Philippe Kelly, born in Versailles on November 10, 1963, made his name on the silver screen with his role in La Boum 2 (1982). He went on to write songs for Liane Foly and Princess Erika, and released his first album, Assez Parlé, in 1993. The following year, his participation in the Classe mannequin series was accompanied by the success of his theme song, "Essaye d'imaginer", which reached No. 2 in the Top 50. A columnist on the TV show Y'a pas photo, he continues to appear in films(Charité biz'ness) and record. With Marc Beacco, he forms the Akapela duo, inviting French chanson stars to perform their hits to minimal accompaniment on the albums Akapela 1 (2001) and Akapela 2 (2003): Claude Nougaro, Maxime Le Forestier, Julien Clerc, Laurent Voulzy, Maurane, Zazie, Catherine Lara and Stephan Eicher take part. He composed music for the films Disco (2008) and Camping 2 (2010) and the TV series Murano (2007), Fais pas ci, fais pas ça (2007-2015), in which he also stars, Mongeville (2013) and Hard.
