Stacey Carole Earle, born September 25, 1960, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is an American singer‑songwriter who began playing ukulele and guitar. After moving to Nashville at 29 with her brother, musician Steve Earle, she contributed backing vocals and rhythm guitar on The Hard Way (1991) and toured worldwide. She signed with Ten Ten Music Group, writing "For Years" for Sammy Kershaw’s 1996 album Politics, Religion and Her. Earle released the solo works Simple Gearle (1998), which appeared on The New York Times "Favorite CDs You Nearly Missed" list, and Dancin’ With Them That Brung Me (2000), followed by Never Gonna Let You Go (2003), S&M Communion Bread (2005), and Town Square (2008) with her brother. She married singer and guitarist Mark Stuart, who helped her organize songwriters' nights in Nashville.
