Bloodlights, a Norwegian hard rock band from Oslo, was formed in 2006 by Captain Poon, former guitarist of Gluecifer. The band's name originated from the phenomenon of seeing red flashes before passing out after excessive consumption. Their music was heavily influenced by 1970s and 1980s melodic rock, combining hard rock riffs with melodic vocals. Bloodlights initially consisted of Captain Poon on guitar and vocals, Jonas Thire on drums, Ron Elly on bass, and Howie B on guitar. Their first single "One Eye Open" was featured in the Norwegian horror movie Fritt Vilt and later re-recorded for their debut album. In 2007, Bloodlights released their self-titled debut album produced by Phil Caivano from Monster Magnet. The band's lineup evolved over time, with Woody Lee replacing Nico Von Schäfer in 2010. Notable subsequent releases include Stand Or Die (2013), Somebody Else's Nightmare EP (2015), and Pulling no Punches (2017).
