The Bobs, an a cappella vocal group, were founded in San Francisco, California, in 1981 by Gunnar Madsen and Matthew Stull. The group initially gained traction with original arrangements of songs like "Psycho Killer". They moved to Seattle, Washington, and released their debut album, The Bobs, in 1983. The Bobs' arrangement of "Helter Skelter" was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1984. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, The Bobs released several albums, including My, I'm Large (1987), Songs for Tomorrow Morning (1988), and Sing the Songs of... (1989). They were known for their humorous original songs and unconventional a cappella arrangements. Notable performances include appearances on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1988 and contributions to soundtracks such as Cool As Ice and Surf Ninjas. Their final performance took place on October 21, 2017, at The Barns at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia.
