Yeah Yeah Noh, an "unpop" group formed in Leicester, England in 1983, emerged from the DIY post-punk era. The band debuted with the Cottage Industry EP in 1984 on In-Tape Records, featuring humorous lyrics and a post-punk/jangle-pop sound. Their album, When I Am A Big Girl, was released in 1985, compiling their initial EPs. The band's lineup expanded to include Tom Slater on guitar, leading to a more psychedelic sound for their second album, Cutting the Heavenly Lawn of Greatness... Last Rites for the God of Love. After releasing additional singles and splitting in 1986, Yeah Yeah Noh reformed in 2012 with original members Derek Hammond, John Grayland, and Tom Slater. In 2015, they released Automatically Saturday.
