Ganes is a pop trio originally from La Val in South Tyrol, Italy, formed in 2009. The group was founded by sisters Elisabeth Schuen and Marlene Schuen and their cousin Maria Moling, with the sisters coming from a musical family where their father was a local bandmaster. The band's debut studio album, Rai de sorëdl (2010), introduced its Ladin-language pop sound. This was followed by Mai guai (2011), which featured drum computers and a bonus live recording with the Babelsberg Film Orchestra. The trio recorded the album Caprize (2014) at Berlin’s Funkhaus Nalepastraße and toured Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy, performing over 300 concerts. Moling left the group at the end of 2017 to pursue personal projects and was replaced by Natalie Plöger on double bass and vocals. Subsequent releases include the albums An cunta che (2016), Or brüm (2021), and A cordes (2023).
