Lupen Crook is an English musician known for his eclectic music style that incorporates elements of garage rock, folk, hip-hop, and gypsy punk. He began his career as an acoustic singer-songwriter in the Medway area during the mid-2000s, with his first gigs taking place in 2004. His initial demo CD was released by Tap 'n' Tin Records in early 2005, followed by the EP Petals Fresh from Road Kill and the single "Halloween" later that year. Crook's debut album, Accidents Occur While Sleeping, was released in July 2007. He formed The Murderbirds with brothers Bob Langridge (drums) and Tom Langridge (bass guitar, keyboards), releasing albums such as Iscariot the Ladder (2008) and The Pros and Cons of Eating Out (2010). After legal disputes with Tap 'n' Tin, Crook established the Beast Reality label in 2008, which featured a strong DIY ethic, releasing solo works like Old Books, Broken Bands And Other Little Treasures (2008) and Waiting For The Post-Man (2011).
