Kill It Kid was an English alternative rock band from Bath that formed in 2008. The ensemble was established by students of Bath Spa University, including the vocalist and guitarist Chris Turpin, the pianist and vocalist Stephanie Ward, and the drummer Marc MacNab-Jack. They achieved early recognition for a musical style that blended roots, rock, and blues, which was showcased on their debut eponymous studio album, Kill It Kid, (2009). This recording earned a nomination for the XFM New Music Award in 2010. Their second studio album, Feet Fall Heavy, (2011) was produced by Leo Abrahams and featured samples of Alan Lomax field recordings. Physical distribution of the recording was notably disrupted following the destruction of a Sony warehouse during the 2011 England riots. After signing with Sire Records, the group released their third studio album, You Owe Nothing, (2014). The band announced an indefinite break in 2015. Following the dissolution, Turpin and Ward formed the group Ida Mae, while MacNab-Jack has performed as a drummer for acts including Band of Skulls.
