Tanya Davis, born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, is a Canadian singer and poet whose work blended spoken word with music. After moving to Halifax in 2005, she began performing in cafés, leading to the release of her debut album Make a List (2006), which earned nominations for Female Recording of the Year and Album of the Year at the Nova Scotia Music Awards. She followed with Gorgeous Morning (2008) and Clocks and Hearts Keep Going (2010), the latter produced by Jim Bryson. In 2014, she issued the single "How to be Alone" and the album Fervour: Songs from Heartbeat (2014). Davis has toured Canada and internationally, collaborated with Jenn Grant, and contributed poetry to films such as Heartbeat and How to Be At Home. She served as poet laureate of Halifax (2011‑2013) and was appointed poet laureate of Prince Edward Island in 2023.
