Eden Brent, born on November 16, 1965, in Greenville, Mississippi, is an American blues pianist and vocalist. Her career began under the apprenticeship of Abie “Boogaloo” Ames, who gave her the nickname “Little Boogaloo”. After she completed a Bachelor of Music at the University of North Texas, she entered the competitive blues scene, winning the Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge in 2006. Her debut album, Something Cool, was released in 2003, followed by her Yellow Dog Records debut, Mississippi Number One, in 2008, which garnered two Blues Music Awards in 2009, including Acoustic Artist of the Year. Her subsequent albums include Ain't Got No Troubles (2010), Jigsaw Heart (2014), An Eden Brent Christmas (2018), and Getaway Blues (2024). Brent performed at major events such as the Chicago Blues Festival and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. In 2015, she won the Independent Music Awards in the Holiday Song category for the song “Valentine”, and she received the Pinetop Perkins Piano Player award from the Blues Foundation in both 2010 and 2025.
