Ragnaröek, a German medieval rock band from Schwerin, was formed in 2005. The group released their self-titled demo in 2006, featuring two studio songs and two live tracks. In 2008, Ragnaröek contributed to an Iron Age Records sampler, leading to a contract with Trollzorn Records. Their debut album Rache was released the following year, and they performed at the Wacken Open Air festival in 2009. The band's second album, Eiskalt, followed in 2011. In December 2013, Ragnaröek released their first official music video for "Gevadder", which was included on their third studio album Dornig (2015). Known for incorporating traditional instruments like the bagpipes and elements of Neue Deutsche Härte, Ragnaröek's style is often categorized as medieval metal.
