Dirk Blanchart, born Dirk Blanchaert on February 18, 1958, in Ghent, Belgium, is a Belgian rock singer, guitarist, and music producer. His music career began when he joined the band Once More in 1980, a group that had previously won Humo's Rock Rally in 1978. At the end of 1980, the group transformed into Luna Twist, achieving success with songs like "African Time", "Look out (you're falling in love again)", and "Decent life". Blanchart launched his solo career in 1984 and released his debut solo album Europe Blue in 1985. He recorded hits such as "I don't mind if the sputnik lands" in 1984 and "Fool Yourself Forever" in 1985. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he released several albums including About the Rain in 1989, Mama Luba in 1990, and Blow in 1992. Notable songs from this period included "No regrets" in 1990 and "L'amour ça va" in 1993. In 2002, he founded his own record label SonoFab. He also worked as a teacher of songwriting and production at the School of Arts - Conservatorium HoGent in Ghent starting in 2011.
