Diunna Fay Greenleaf, born October 6, 1957 in Houston, Texas, is an American soul blues singer and songwriter. Before her musical career, she earned degrees in Mass Communications and Educational Counseling. Greenleaf’s musical roots are in gospel, with influences from Koko Taylor to Aretha Franklin. In 2004, Diunna Fay Greenleaf and her band Blue Mercy released their first album Crazy But Live in Houston. The following year, they won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. In 2007, they released their debut studio album Cotton Field to Coffee House, earning a Blues Music Award for "Best New Artist Debut" in 2008. Greenleaf has collaborated with notable artists such as Pinetop Perkins and B.B. King. Her subsequent albums include Trying to Hold On (2011), and I Ain’t Playin (2022). She won the Blues Music Award in the "Traditional Blues Female Artist" category in 2014 and 2017.
