Ultraísta, formed in 2008, is an experimental rock trio consisting of Atoms for Peace members Nigel Godrich and Joey Waronker, alongside Laura Bettinson. Godrich and Waronker initially collaborated before Bettinson joined in 2010, contributing vocals and synthesizer. The trio released its self-titled debut album, Ultraísta, on October 2, 2012, followed by a remix album in 2013. On November 22, 2019, the band released a deluxe edition of the debut album. The group returned with the single “Tin King” on January 14, 2020, followed by the album Sister on March 13, 2020. The band’s music is inspired by a love of afrobeat, electronica, and art.
