The German rapper known as Sa4 was born Anton Kolja Pehrs in Hamburg on August 1, 1985. Shocked by the death of American rapper Tupac Shakur, one of his longtime heroes, he began writing his own rhymes in 1996. Shortly after, he met Bonez MC through the Hamburg label Jentown Crhyme and joined the hip-hop collective 187 Strassenbande, which was still a graffiti crew at the time. Following the label's demise, the duo decided to start making music together. Undercover, his first mixtape, came out in 2009, followed by the Nebensache EP in 2016. During that time he also appeared on several albums by the 187 Strassenbande that solidified his reputation as one of the strongest voices in German gangsta rap. Preceded by the singles "Schnell machen" and "Rush Hour," Sa4's long-awaited studio debut Neue deutsche Quelle arrived in 2017, reaching Number 3 on the German Albums Chart and Number 2 in Austria. Subsequently, he continued releasing music on his own and collaborating closely with his bandmates, spawning Top 10 singles like "Paradies" and "Verpennt," both included in 187 Strassenbande's 2021 effort, Sampler 5. In 2022, "187 All Stars '22," a single recorded with Bonez MC, Gzuz, Maxwell, and LX, peaked at Number 3 on the German Singles Chart.
