Big Light, a German pop band from Berlin, was founded in 1987, and included guitarist Sven Haeusler, drummer Karl Hackenberger, and later keyboardist Christian Mathis. The band’s first release, the vinyl-only mini‑album The Big Light (1991), marked their entry into the German pop scene, followed by High Density (1993), Pop 2000 (1995), and NowHere. (1996). Their breakthrough came with the single "Trouble Is" (1994), which reached number 70 on the German charts and number 11 on the French dance charts, establishing the group as a notable act in European pop‑dance circles. The band supported the European tour of Wet Wet Wet in 1995, expanding their audience beyond Germany. While the group disbanded in the late 1990s, members continued to be active: Haeusler as a producer and Hackenberger as a musician and voice actor.
