Ocho Y Media, a salsa group based in Paris, France, was formed over 25 years ago by musicians aiming to capture the spirit of Fania Records. They began performing in small venues across Paris, building a reputation for their energetic live shows and a repertoire primarily consisting of New York salsa. In 2004, Ocho Y Media released their debut album ¡Llegó la hora!, which included ten original compositions and two covers. The album was funded through public subscriptions and sold over 5,000 copies without any promotional budget. Their second album, Sigue!, released in February 2006, marked a shift towards greater musical diversity with songs in Spanish, English, and French. Ocho Y Media continues to perform live, sharing their music with audiences worldwide.
