Slechtvalk, a Dutch Viking/black metal band, was formed by singer and guitarist Shamgar. Initially a solo project, Shamgar released their debut album Falconry in 2000. Their second album, The War That Plagues the Lands, reached number 2 in the Dutch metal charts in 2002. In 2005, Slechtvalk released At the Dawn of War. The band was signed to Whirlwind Records in 2009 and released A Forlorn Throne in 2010. Their album Where Wandering Shadows and Mists Collide followed in 2016. In 2024, Slechtvalk released At Death's Gate.
