David Holt, born on October 15, 1946, in Gatesville, Texas, is an American musician who performs traditional American music and stories. In 2002, he released the album Legacy, featuring collaborations with Doc Watson and a collection of Southern folktales. His work earned him four Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Folk Album, and his PBS series David Holt's State of Music received a Midsouth Regional Emmy nomination in 2015.
