Lynne Hanson is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Ottawa, Ontario. She began her music career performing with Shane Simpson from 2000 to 2005 before launching her solo songwriting career in 2006. Her debut album, Things I Miss, was released that year, followed by 11 Months (2008) and Once the Sun Goes Down (2010). In 2014, she released River of Sand, produced by Juno-award-winning songwriter Lynn Miles. Hanson won the Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award in 2010 for "Rest of My Days" and was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award in 2009. She toured extensively across Canada and internationally, including performances with Steve Forbert and Gretchen Peters. In 2018, Hanson collaborated with Lynn Miles on the band project The LYNNeS, releasing Heartbreak Song for the Radio and winning English Songwriter of the Year and Ensemble of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Her subsequent solo albums include 7 Deadly Spins (2015), Uneven Ground (2017), Just Words (2020), Ice Cream in November (2022), and Just a Poet (2024).
