寂寞·夏·日, also known as Lonely China Day, is a Chinese indie rock band from Beijing. The group was formed by lead singer Deng Pei and includes Wang Dongtao on guitar, He Feng on bass guitar, and Luo Hao on drums. In 2006, the band released their debut EP Lonely China Day under Tag Team Records. Their first full-length album, Sorrow, followed in 2007 and received a positive review from Allmusic, which praised its ambitious neo-prog elements. The same year, Lonely China Day performed at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. In 2010, they released their second album, 这个易同化民族 (This Readily Assimilative People). Deng Pei's vocals and lyrics, often drawn from ancient Chinese poetry, are a distinctive feature of the band’s sound, which has been compared to that of Sigur Rós due to its use of methodical, droning guitars and non-English lyrics.
