Lyon began recording experimental noise and electronic organ music in 2000 while residing at Fort Thunder. Over twenty albums have been released on various labels since that time. The compositions of Mudboy have been compared to minimalists including Terry Riley and cite dub music as an influence. Recordings include the album Hungry Ghosts! These Songs are Doors (2007). As an installation artist, Lyon creates landscapes reflecting ambient noise, which have been featured in cities including Los Angeles, Baltimore, Chicago, and Providence.
