Brandon Alexander Smith, known professionally as B. Smyth, was an American singer and rapper born on March 12, 1992, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Smith launched his career by posting cover versions of songs on YouTube before signing with Motown Records in 2012. He released the debut single “Leggo” (2012) featuring 2 Chainz, which reached number 41 on the Hot R&B Songs chart and peaked at number 12 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. His recording career includes the debut extended play The Florida Files (2013), which featured the single “Win Win” (2013) with Future. Smith subsequently moved to the labels ByStorm Entertainment and RCA Records to issue the track “Creep” (2015) featuring Young Thug. His discography includes the singles “Twerkoholic” (2014) and “Love Killa” (2016), as well as the extended play Thr3 (2017). Smith died from pulmonary fibrosis on November 17, 2022.
