Cheers Elephant is an American indie pop and psychedelic rock band from Philadelphia, formed in 2007 by Derek Krzywicki, Jordan Del Rosario, Matt Rothstein, and Robert King. The group emerged from the Paul Green School of Rock in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, where Rothstein and Del Rosario taught bass and guitar. They self-released three albums between 2008 and 2012, including Like Wind Blows Fire (2012), and built a following through extensive national touring and appearances at South by Southwest. Their sound draws on influences including the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Beach Boys, combined with a distinctly Philadelphia character. After relocating to Southern California in 2013, main songwriter Krzywicki left in 2014, and the band continued as a trio. They released Stonemasters in 2017. Although the original lineup reunited in 2020, a planned tour in China was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.
