Over The Wall was a Scottish pop, rock, and folk band from Glasgow, formed in 2006. The ensemble consisted of multi-instrumentalists Ben Hillman and Gavin Prentice, who met as students at the University of Glasgow. The duo initially performed at local music events at the Stereo bar before collaborating on a sound characterized by "euphoric, folk-tinged pop". The group released its debut EP, The Rise and Fall of Over The Wall, in 2008. In 2010, the ensemble released the studio album Treacherous through Motive Sounds Recordings. The work was described by the publication This Is Fake DIY as "one of the more stunning albums of the year". The track "Thurso" gained exposure as the theme tune for the BBC 1 Scotland comedy series Burnistoun in March 2011. In 2012, the group entered a period of hiatus as Hillman focused on academic pursuits. The band resumed activity in 2013, releasing a split single with John Knox Sex Club and the EP "This Is How We Did It". Over The Wall became inactive in May 2014 following two final live performances.
