Fertig, Los! was formed in Munich, Germany, in the summer of 2004 by vocalist and guitarist Philipp Leu, bassist Julia Viechtl, and drummer Florian Wille, after having known each other since school. The group released their debut EP in June 2006, which attracted a contract with Columbia Records and secured the placement of the track "Sie ist in mich verliebt" on the soundtrack of the FIFA 07 video game. In 2007 the single "Ein Geheimnis" entered the German charts, reaching number 82 for two weeks. The band continued to develop its sound through collaborations with producer Patrik Berger and Jochen Naaf in Cologne and Stockholm. On 17 May 2010 the second studio album Pläne für die Zukunft was released, followed by the singles "Wenn du mich brauchst" on 3 May and "Der Moment" on 29 November. Fertig, Los! opened for Pink at the Hessentag festival in Stadtallendorf in June 2010 and for Amy Macdonald in July of the same year.
