Bloody Panda, an American doom metal band based in New York City, formed in 2003 by visual artist Yoshiko Ohara. Bloody Panda released their self-titled debut EP in 2004 and gained attention for their live performances. Between 2005 and 2006, they toured extensively around New York City. In early 2007, the band released a split EP with avant-garde metal group Kayo Dot through Holy Roar Records and recorded a cover of Eyehategod's "Anxiety Hangover" for the tribute album For the Sick. Their first full-length album, Pheromone, was produced by Jason Marcucci and released in 2007 by Level Plane Records.
