Hellbringer is an Australian black and thrash metal band from Canberra, formed in 2007 under the name Forgery. Initially performing covers by bands such as Venom, Sodom, and Slayer, the group soon began writing original material. After releasing a demo and EP, they adopted the name Hellbringer to avoid confusion with a Norwegian band called Forgery. Their self-titled EP was released by Iron Pegasus Records in 2011, followed by their debut album, Dominion of Darkness, on High Roller Records in 2012. Their music combines black and thrash metal, drawing influence from Deströyer 666, Mortal Sin, Gospel of the Horns, Possessed, Armoured Angel, and early Slayer. In 2016, they released Awakened from the Abyss.
