Michelle Malone, born in Atlanta, Georgia, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. She began performing at age four in a church choir and later learned to play multiple instruments. As a teenager, she started writing songs and performing professionally around Atlanta. In 1990, Malone released her album Relentless with her band Drag the River. She founded SBS Records in 1992. Throughout her career, Malone has released numerous albums, including Sugar Foot (2006) and Debris (2009), both of which were on the Grammy Award ballot for Best Contemporary Blues and Best Americana Albums respectively. Notable collaborations include work with Gregg Allman, John Mayer, Indigo Girls, and Sugarland members Jennifer Nettles, Kristen Hall, and Kristian Bush. Malone's album Slings & Arrows (2018) debuted at number 8 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart.
