The Amazing Stroopwafels are a Dutch band from Rotterdam formed in 1979. The ensemble was established as a duo by Wim Kerkhof and Arie van der Graaf, later adding Rien de Bruin. They achieved professional recognition for their musical style as street musicians and for performing at political demonstrations for the Socialist Party. Their recording career includes the debut studio album The Amazing Stroopwafels (1980) followed by Mooi Weer (1981). The latter featured the track “Oude Maasweg” (1981), which reached number 50 on the national singles chart and is recognized as a contribution to Dutch pop music history. The group performed more than 6,000 concerts over thirty years, including tours in Denmark. In 2007, the track “Oude Maasweg” reached number 16 in the Top 2000 chart compiled by NPO Radio 2. Their discography includes 18 studio albums, such as In Vuur En Vlam (1982), Wat Een Leven! (1983), and De Straat Betaalt (1986). Their discography includes the studio recordings Gaan Te Ver (1988), Van De Straat (2003), and Hiero (2017).
