Spod is an Australian indie-electro project formed in Sydney in 1995 and centered on musician Brent Griffin. The project began as a duo with Mike Rickards before Griffin continued developing SPOD as a largely solo music project. They released their debut album, Taste the Radness, in 2003, blending electroclash, rock, and experimental pop with energetic, anarchic live performances. The group toured extensively, including an appearance at the Sydney Big Day Out in 2004 and its first overseas performance at South by Southwest in Austin in 2007. Its second album, Superfrenz, followed in 2008 and continued Griffin's playful mix of electronic, rock, and hip-hop influences. They later released Taste the Sadness (2014), a darker reworking of the debut that explored adulthood and midlife crisis, followed by Adult Fantasy (2019). Other releases include the EP Eternal Championz (2004) and singles such as “Couple of Drinks” (2012), “Boys Night” (2016), and “Becomes a Wife” (2019).
