Thomas Putensen, born on December 4, 1959, in Rostock, Germany, is a German actor and singer. He began his musical journey at school, composing music for projects. After an apprenticeship, he transitioned to theater music composition at Theater Greifswald in 1979 and later worked as a répétiteur at the State Ballet School in Berlin. Putensen founded the Soirée Session Band in the late 1990s and the Panzerkreuzer Putensen Band in 1999. He also released his debut album Pionierlieder in 1997, followed by Greifswald (2002) and Nordwind (2007). In 2008, he began leading the Putensen Beat Ensemble, performing songs from the 1970s by Manfred Krug and Günther Fischer.
