Lucy Victoria Ward is an English folk singer-songwriter from Derby, England. She began playing the guitar and writing songs at age 14, and after performing at open mic nights across the Midlands, she entered the BBC Young Folk Awards and signed with Navigator Records. Her debut album, Adelphi Has to Fly (2011), received a four-star review from The Guardian, and she won the Horizon Award at the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. She followed with Single Flame (2013), and her third album, I Dreamt I Was a Bird (2015), earned a four-star review from The Daily Telegraph and was named Album of the Year by Fatea magazine. She later released Pretty Warnings (2018) under Betty Beetroot Records, and collaborated with the trio Cupola on the album Bluebell (2016) and the EP Four (2012). Her work also appeared in theatrical productions and film soundtracks, such as the documentary Folie à Deux – madness made of two.
