Bet.E & Stef

Bet.e & Stef was a Canadian bossa nova and jazz group from Montreal formed in 1995. The ensemble consisted of vocalist Elizabeth Provencher and guitarist Stéphane Carreau. They began performing in the Montreal club scene before releasing their debut studio album Jazz/Bossa Nova (1997), which was certified gold for sales of 50,000 copies. After their music was released in Japan by Toshiba-EMI as Wish You Well (2001), they signed with Verve Records and released the studio recording Day by Day (2002). The album sold 200,000 copies and earned them a nomination for New Group of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2003. They stopped performing together in 2003 to work on separate projects before reforming in 2013 with the release of the album Remix Deluxe (2013). They followed this with the double album It's All Right (2014) and the studio recording Seeds (2015). The duo disbanded in 2017 when Provencher joined the trio Eliza Eleven.
