Jaffa Road is a Canadian world music group founded in Toronto in 2005 by a collective of musicians who blend Hebrew, Spanish and English poetry with belly‑dance rhythms, dub grooves and electronica. Their debut album, Sunplace, was released in 2009 and earned a 2010 Juno Award nomination for World Music Album of the Year; the track "L.Y.G." (Lo Yisa Goy) won the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Song Writing Contest – World Music Category in September 2009. The group performed at North by Northeast in 2010 and the Wreckhouse International Jazz and Blues Festival in 2011. In 2012, they issued Where the Light Gets In.
