Sotajumala, a Finnish death metal band from Jyväskylä, was founded in 1998 by Tomi Otsala and Kosti Orbinski. Initially inspired by Deicide, the band released their self-titled demo Sotajumala in October 2001, which led to a contract with Woodcut Records. Their first EP, Panssarikolonna, was released in February 2003 and marked the beginning of several lineup changes. The band's debut album, Death Metal Finland, followed in March 2004, featuring technical death metal with lyrics primarily focused on war. In October 2007, their second album, Teloitus, was released, reaching number 17 on the Finnish charts and featuring the single "Kuolinjulistus". The band continued to release albums, including Kuolemanpalvelus in May 2010 and Raunioissa in January 2015. Sotajumala played their final gig in Lutakko, Jyväskylä on May 13, 2017.
