Rick Anthony, born on February 11, 1979, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, is a Scottish singer and songwriter known by his stage name Rick Redbeard. He began performing solo shows in the mid-2000s, adopting the pseudonym due to its pirate connotations. In 2012, he released his first single, "Now We’re Dancing" as a split 7" with Adam Stafford. His debut album, No Selfish Heart, was released by Chemikal Underground Records in 2013, followed by a UK headline tour including sold-out shows in Aberdeen and Glasgow. In 2016, his second album Awake Unto was released by the same label.
