Giant Squid fue una banda estadounidense de post-metal y rock progresivo formada en 2002. Fundada en Sacramento, el grupo estaba compuesto por Aaron John Gregory, Bryan Beeson, Jackie Perez Gratz, Zack Farwell y Andy Southard. Sus primeras grabaciones, bajo el nombre de Namor, incluían las canciones«Revolution in the Water»y«Ampullae of Lorenzini». A su álbum debut, Metridium Field (2004), le siguió el EP Monster in the Creek (2005). Giant Squid publicó los álbumes Metridium Fields (2006) y The Ichthyologist (2009). Su discografía incluye el EP Cenotes (2011) y el álbum Minoans (2014). Giant Squid se disolvió en 2015.
