Tim Grimm was born on September 27, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, and is an American folk singer and actor who grew up in southern Indiana. After completing a Master’s in Political Science at Earlham College, he entered the music scene with the single "King of the Folksingers" from his 2013 album The Turning Point, which reached Number 1 in the United States in 2014. His discography began with Heart Land (1999) and continued with Coyote's Dream (2003), Names (2004), Gone (2021), and The Little In-Between (2023), each released under independent labels and featuring collaborations with musicians such as Ramblin' Jack Elliott. His career has been marked by consistent touring across the U.S. and a nomination for the Joseph Jefferson Award in 2000 for acting.
