U-Piter was a Russian rock band from Saint Petersburg. Formed in 2001, the group was established by the leader of Nautilus Pompilius, Vyacheslav Butusov, and the guitarist of Kino, Yuri Kasparyan. The ensemble also included drummer Evgeny Kulakov and later bass guitarist Aleksey Andreyev. The band released its debut single, "Ударная любовь", in 2001. Their first studio album, Имя рек, appeared in 2003. This was followed by the recording Биографика in 2004, which featured the tracks "Песня идущего домой" and "Девушка по городу". The latter song won a Golden Gramophone award. The ensemble's subsequent recordings included the albums Богомол (2008) and Цветы и тернии (2010). The track "Дети минут" from the 2010 recording was featured in the soundtrack for the film Игла Remix. In 2015, the group issued its final studio album, Гудгора. Following a tour of Siberia and the Ural region, U-Piter disbanded in 2017.
