Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe is an American musician, composer, and sound artist who formerly recorded under the moniker Lichens. After leaving the group 90 Day Men, he released his first improvisational album, The Psychic Nature of Being, in 2005 and followed with Omns in 2007. He toured extensively in 2008, opening for Explosions in the Sky and playing at All Tomorrow's Parties. His collaborations expanded to include bass and vocals for the supergroup Singer, contributions to the stoner/doom band Om's God Is Good and Advaitic Songs, and vocal work with black metal band Twilight. His later releases include Eclipses (2010) and the soundtrack Candyman (2021), which highlighted his continued experimentation with modular synthesis and live improvisation.
