François Adrien Jean Budet, known as François Budet, and born on October 3, 1940, in Plaine-Haute, France, was a Breton singer-songwriter. He began his musical journey performing with a vocal quartet inspired by Les Frères Jacques. His breakthrough came in 1965 when he wrote and composed "Loguivy-de-la-Mer", which became an instant hit among the locals of Ploubazlanec. In 1973, Budet released his debut album Loguivy-de-la-mer, which included the title track that became a classic of Breton music. Throughout his career, he collaborated with notable artists such as Glenmor and Georges Dor, and released several albums including D'amour et de terre (1976) and Au Mitan de la Vie (1982). Budet's final album, 7 Nouvelles Chansons De François Budet, was released in 2016. He passed away on July 5, 2018.
