Thyrane is a Finnish black metal band from Kemi. Formed in 1994 by Blastmor, the group underwent several lineup changes, including the addition of guitarist Daemon and bass guitar player R. Grönholm in 1996 and a second guitarist, Avather, in 1997. Thyrane recorded the debut demo “Black Harmony” (1997) in Tico-Tico Studio. Their first full-length album, Symphonies of Infernality (1999), was released through Woodcut Records. Following the departure of R. Grönholm, Daemon took over bass duties while Blastmor performed lead guitar and vocals. Their second album, The Spirit of Rebellion (2000), was released after signing with Spikefarm Records. Thyrane released Hypnotic (2003), which featured a brief shift into industrial metal, followed by the final studio album of their initial run, Travesty of Heavenly Essence (2005). They disbanded in 2006 but reformed in 2015 with a partially different lineup. In 2022, they announced they were working on a new album.
