Ana Maria Alfacinha de Brito Monteiro, known as Anamar, was born on May 23, 1960, in Lisbon, Portugal. She is a singer and actress who initially studied theater at the National Conservatory before moving to Sweden where she formed the English-language punk band Odd Combo. Her music career began with the single "Baile Final" / "Lágrimas" released by Fundação Atlântica in 1983. Anamar's debut album, Almanave, was released in 1987 and achieved silver status after its premiere at Coliseu dos Recreios. She continued to release albums including Feiabonita (1989), M (1997), Ao Vivo with Pilar and Né Ladeiras (2002), Afinal (2003), Transfado (2004), and her self-titled album Anamar (2013). Anamar's work often blended traditional Fado with modern influences, earning her recognition in alternative music circles. Her acting career included roles in films such as Crónica dos Bons Malandros, Repórter X, and television series like A Teia.
