Paul Otis Gibbs III, born in Wanamaker, Indiana, is an American alt-country singer-songwriter and podcaster. He began releasing independent music with his debut album 49th and Melancholy (2002). His catalog expanded with One Day Our Whispers (2004), Joe Hill's Ashes (2010), and Souvenirs of a Misspent Youth (2014), which was praised by The Tennessean. Subsequent releases included Mount Renraw (2016), Hoosier National (2020), and The Trust of Crows (2025). His song “The Darker Side of Me” was noted by music critics as a track Johnny Cash would be interested in recording, while “The Peoples Day” was highlighted by Billy Bragg in The Wall Street Journal. He recorded the podcast Thanks for Giving a Damn, featuring artists such as Chris Shiflett, Jim White, and Amy Lashley.
