Benjamin Harvey Bailey Smith, known professionally as Doc Brown, was raised in Willesden, north-west London. He began his music career as a battle rapper in 2000, performing at venues such as Dingwalls nightclub in Camden Lock. His debut album Citizen Smith Vol. 1 was released in 2004, followed by The Document in 2005. In 2006, he released Citizen Smith Volume 2: Nothing To Lose. Doc Brown also formed the British hip hop group Poisonous Poets, releasing a mixtape in 2005. In 2017, he released Stemma. Doc Brown collaborated with Ricky Gervais on the soundtrack for the 2016 film David Brent: Life on the Road. Aside from his music career, Smith is also an actor, appearing on shows like Law & Order: UK and Andor.
