The Lucid, an American hard‑rock group formed in 2020, consists of guitarist Drew Fortier, drummer Mike Heller, bassist David Ellefson, and vocalist Vinnie Dombroski. The band originated when Fortier and Heller demoed material in early 2020 before the band was fully formed. Their debut single, "Maggot Wind," premiered in September 2021, leading to the release of the self‑titled album in October that year, produced by Heller and mixed by Lasse Lammert. In 2022, they released the single "Saddle Up and Ride" featuring Violent J of Insane Clown Posse, followed by the EP Saddle Up and Ride in 2023. The Lucid gained media attention, including a feature in Metal Hammer’s 2023 "4 Brilliant New Metal Bands You Need To Hear" column, and released music videos for tracks such as "Hair" (2022) and "Risk Machine" (2025).
