Universal, an Australian boy band from Sydney, was composed of brothers George Philippou, Michael Philippou, and Adam Philippou, who released music on London Records. Their breakthrough arrived in 1997 with the singles "Make It With You" and "Rock Me Good", both entering the UK Singles Chart Top 40. The group released "Kill The Pain" in 1998, though it failed to chart internationally. Following the underperformance of the third single, Universal disbanded later that year. In 2005, the Philippou brothers reunited in Sydney under the name The Brothership and competed in the inaugural season of The X‑Factor, reaching the group final under mentor Mark Holden, though they were ultimately eliminated. The Brothership did not secure a recording contract thereafter, and Universal remains a brief but chart‑successful footnote in 1990s Australian pop history.
