Keith Daniel Kozacik, also known as Catfish Keith, was born on February 9, 1962, in East Chicago, Indiana, and is an American acoustic blues singer-songwriter and guitarist. Inspired by early exposure to blues music, he began his musical journey in his teenage years. His stage name originated from a diving partner who nicknamed him Catfish-Swimmin'-Around. In 1985, he released his debut album Catfish Blues through Kicking Mule Records and continued to tour extensively. He founded Fish Tail Records in 1988 and gained global recognition with the release of Pepper in My Shoe in 1991. His subsequent albums include Cherry Ball (1993) and Shake Me Up (2024). He is also an endorser of National Reso-Phonic Guitars and has been inducted into the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame.
