Lex van Someren, born in 1952 in Amsterdam, is a Dutch artist, singer, composer, clown, teacher, and author. He began his artistic journey with early theater experiences in Amsterdam, influenced by encounters with Toon Hermans. He initially trained as a sports teacher but also studied dance, singing, Tai-Chi, and meditative arts. From 1982 to 1994, he gained international recognition as "Lexis, the Mystic Clown," performing for both children and adults. He developed the "TAO des Clowns" school and continued his vocal training while performing on European theater stages. In 1985, he moved to Norway, working as an artistic director for various theaters and touring internationally. His career shifted in 1995 when he focused on composing music and releasing albums under his own label, Ayam Visionary Art Productions. His discography includes Music for Meditation (2000), Balinea (2007), and OYASIN (2025).
